With $30,000 on the line as a competition prize, Bang helped Brennan IT create intrigue with a simple concept called ‘The Innovation Lab’.

The Challenge

Our client Brennan IT, a highly skilled technology services business, came to Bang for help to create and promote a unique and exciting competition. The chief goal was to educate the market about the innovative outcomes Brennan IT achieves in partnership with their customers.

The identified strategy was to create a competition concept based on a theme of: “Get Modern. Win $30,000 in technology and services to modernise your business”.

With such an attractive prize on offer, our job was to ensure the creative concept, design, and communications style and tone lived up to the $30k reward!

THE solution

The Bang creative team devised several concepts to drive engagement with the competition and with this, ‘The Innovation Lab’ bubbled to the surface.

A beautifully simple and effective vehicle to carry the communications with the strap line retaining this simplicity: “Your Vision + Our Technology”. Business and IT leaders were asked to “Win Big with Brennan IT” and submit the technology challenge facing their business, along with the way they envisioned it being solved.

The competition promised that a winner would receive a $30,000 catalyst of equipment, software and services from Brennan IT, which would help deliver a truly transformative solution.

The Innovation Lab campaign included a series of teaser and information-based eDMs directing the target audience to a landing page for the Innovation Lab, plus a sponsored eDM to IT News readers and online retargeting ad banners to support direct communications.

We achieved a great level of engagement for Brennan IT through ‘The Innovation Lab’ competition. It was a real differentiator.

There was a significant number of qualified leads during the competition period which ran from May 20 – June 30, 2015. But the real benefit of the competition was the opportunity for clients to tell Brennan IT their business requirements and pain points, which opened a number of new 
opportunities and potentially new markets to explore.

The lucky winner was Melbourne based company, Acrodyne Pty. Ltd, a leading supplier of actuation, instrumentation and control products.
Brennan IT has been impressed about the outcomes stemming from 'The Innovation Lab' and look forward to working with a number of the 
competition entrants to drive the IT transformation they need to modernise their businesses.
